Built in the Kansas Assembly plant
Build date of October 29th 1969
This 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS5 is a frame off restoration that has replicated the Kansas assembly plant build.
Much research and attention to detail has gone into every inch of this car, re-creating how it would be just off the Kansas factory assembly line.
This car was originally sold at Davis Chevrolet in Bismarck, ND and has the build sheet and window sticker.
NOM 454 GM Stamping XCH GM over the counter crate LS7.
GM steel crank, 7/16 dimple connecting rods, 11.25:1 LS6 pistons, 1969 #291 rectangle port cylinder heads, late 1969 #569 low rise intake, GM correct street mechanical solid lifter camshaft.
Radiator is the GM four core with tag.
GM factory spec used for the TH400 transmission and high stall torque converter.
GM 12 bolt rear differential with posi traction and standard 3.31:1 gear ratio.
This Chevelle was stripped to bare metal and sprayed with the correct colors and overspray.
Rosette primer was used for the first coat and then the correct black for the firewall, transmission tunnel, toe board and center of the driveshaft tunnel.
Black was sprayed letting the Rosette show through in light spots, just as they did in the Kansas factory.
The body is painted with the doors and trunk lid on, as it was done on the GM assembly line.
Chassis and all suspension components were either stripped and correctly coated or replaced with new.
The chassis is tagged and color marked correctly.
GM re-chromed OEM bumpers.
Original early build Chevelle double tanged ground strap on hood.
AMCO fuel tank paint with proper finished gas tank.
Correct big block exhaust system, with weld on tips that do not have the GM part number stamped.
This is correct, only over the counter tips had part numbers stamped into them.
The cowl induction solenoid and the transmission timing control solenoid are in the correct Kansas factory locations.
The upper radiator hose is factory big block A/C, this was commonly used on Kansas factory cars with big blocks.
The jack sticker is in the original upper right-side corner of the underside of the trunk.
Interior is original black with bench seats in the front and rear.
Correct GM seat belts, 6500 pm tach and SS gauges.
Equipped with column shift tilt steering column, GM 3 spoke sport steering wheel and the original 8 track am radio.
Dash pad is an OEM original, not a reproduction.
