1959 jaguar Mark IX Saloon with rare left hanD drive, moon roof and automatic transmission! Refinished
in A GORGEOUS color combination of Onyx Black and : AN leather interior trim.
Since 1950, Jaguar had been
building large, separate chassis saloon cars, starting wi h the Mk VII.
In 1959 the final derivative arrived, the Jaguar Mk IX.
The Mk IX utilized the famous XK engine which ad evolved into a powerful 220bhp 3.8L unit, enough to haul this large saloon car up to a top speed of 117mph.
The Mk IX had a body identical to that used on the previous Mk VIII, although it did have an improved heater and a new badge to distinguish it.
This handsome saloon was part of a collection and was in long term storage for years.
It has nice paint , chrome and trim along with newer leather
interior.
The car will need attention to the brakes, carburetors and battery.
We had the car running but will need some attention as mentioned ..
At the time the Mk IX was considered on par with the then current Bentley S-type, even
though it was a third of the price.
