Offered for sale is this restored 1965 Citroen 2CV (AZL) finished in Pale Yellow (possibly Beige Gazelle) over Gray vinyl interior.
The Citroen 2CV, or Deux Chevaux, was produced by French automaker Citroen from 1948 1988.
The 2CV was originally designed post-WW2 to be a car of the people like the VW Beetle; its goal being low-cost, reliability, good fuel consumption, and ease of maintenance.
A number of updates were introduced during its production run including a number of different engines and body configurations.
This mid-60s AZL sedan example is fitted with the 425cc 12-hp.
Assembly was completed by Citroen in Argentina (as were many 2CVS in the 60s-70s).
This 2CV was restored in 2005 and travelled approximately 100 miles before being purchased by a local collector who kept the Citroen on display in a private museum collection until now.
Very clean inside and out.
Runs and drives well.
EXTERIOR: The pale yellow (possibly Beige Gazelle) was laid down in 2005 during the restoration of the 2CV.
Floor pans are clean and free of rust (images in gallery with seats and floor mats removed).
Paintwork is in great shape overall and presents extremely well.
The roll-up top easily folds back for open-air motoring (rear window is glass).INTERIOR: The interior of this 2CV is in very good shape overall and finished in Gray vinyl with bench seats front and rear.
Designed to be a low-priced economy car in the same vein as the VW Beetle, the interior is charmingly spartan.
The large steering wheel, offset speedometer/odometer and stenciled shift pattern are delightfully funky.
TMU, the odometer reads 3,508 miles.

DRIVETRAIN:The clean engine compartment holds an aircooled 455cc 12-hp Flat 2 Cylinder which fires easily and runs well.
The unique 3-speed transmission, which utilizes a pull-style lever to row through the gears, shifts without issue.
