VICARI AUCTION ANNOUNCES 2 RARE 1971 LS6 CORVETTES
To Be Offered At Cruisin’ Nocona Auction

NOCONA, TX. – A rare find indeed, the Vicari Auction Company recently uncovered a rare survivor, a 1971 LS6 Corvette convertible in a southern Alabama garage in pristine condition.  The 1971 LS6 Corvette is very likely the best documented, lowest mileage, original LS6 Corvette to become available in years.  Also joining the convertible, is a restored Brands Hatch Green LS6 Coupe.  Both will cross the auction block at Vicari’s 2nd Annual Cruisin’ Nocona Auction in historic Nocona, TX this May.

Only 188 LS6 Corvettes were produced in 1971, and of those only 24 were convertibles.  LS6′s were the superstars of the Corvette line in 1971.  The all American Sports Car is powered by a monstrous high output 425 HP/454 cubic inch V8 engine with aluminum heads that produces an astounding 475 lbs ft of torque.  Add to that the Convertibles M22 optioned 4 speed Rock Crusher, close ratio, heavy duty transmission and special 411 axle ratio and you have one impressive piece of GM engineering.   This unique Corvette sports Mille Miglia Red original paint and its factory black vinyl interior.  With just over 13,176 documented miles on this time capsule, this Corvette is a must have for any serious Corvette collectors stable.  Most notably, this LS6 is a one owner Corvette with documentation including the GM bill of sale to the dealer, dealer bill of sale to the one and current owner, Protect-O-Plate and tank sticker.

Also offered at the Cruisin’ Nocona Auction is a 1971 LS6 Coupe with Brands Hatch Green paint  and saddle interior.  Currently displaying 97,866 miles, the LS6 Corvette was a recipient of a frame off restoration in approximately 2000-2001 and includes a photo documentation book of the work completed. Options include electric power windows, a M40 Turbohydromatic transmission, tilt-telescopic steering wheel, AM/FM pushbutton radio and rally wheels.  “Rare Corvettes such as the pair of LS6′s that will be offered at the 2014 Cruisin’ Nocona event amp up the excitement for the auction and I expect both to entertain vigorous bidding” said Pete Vicari.  Detailed information can be found on the Vicari Auction website.
