VICARI ANNOUNCES OCTOBER 2014 BILOXI COLLECTOR CAR AUCTION
Event To Be Held In Conjunction With Cruisin’ The Coast

BILOXI, MS. – The Vicari Auction Company will offer nearly 500 classic and muscle cars at auction during the annual Cruisin’ The Coast, October 9-11, 2014, at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center in Biloxi, MS.

Start up your engines, its cruisin’ time on the Gulf Coast, and Vicari Auction will bring its three day collector car auction back to Cruisin’ The Coast again the second weekend of October.  Classics will begin crossing the auction block on Thursday, October 9 with its popular consignment promotion 100 cars for $100 per car.  Headlining the auction in 2014 is a pure muscle 1970 Plymouth Superbird.  This bird has an attitude and its fueled by a 440 Six Pack.  The Superbird, a highly modified Plymouth Roadrunner designed for NASCAR, is most identifiable by it aerodynamic body, and high mounted rear wing.  In 1970 NASCAR required stock cars raced to be available for sale to the general public, with a minimum of one vehicle for every two dealers in the United States.  Due to the high cost to build the car, tightening emissions standards and high insurance rates the Superbird saw production of just one year with a reported 1,935 total units built and shipped.  The Superbird offered by Vicari Auction has been Galen decoded, is dressed in blue paint with a black interior, and has a matching numbers 440 CID engine paired a with four speed manual with pistol grip.  The automobile has undergone an extensive rotisserie restoration which has won the owner many awards and trophies, and the 25,000 miles shown on the odometer is believed to be correct although exempt due to age.  Other notable consignments include a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette with matching numbers big block 427 / 400 HP V8, a 1948 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible, and a rare 1211B Optioned factory delete back seat 1957 Chevy 150, as well as many cars including a resto-mod 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air selling with no reserve to the highest bidder.

This year marks nearly two decades on the Mississippi Coast for Vicari Auction.  “Cruisin’ The Coast started as a bunch of good ol’ boys having a good time with their old cars, today it is astounding to see the positive economic impact of the millions of dollars that come to the Coast with enthusiast from all over the country,” said Pete Vicari.  The Vicari Auction Company has also announced it will offer several items at auction to raise awareness and funds for Children’s Hospital, New Orleans.  The items will be sold after the Saturday feature cars running at 3:00 pm.  The three day Vicari Auction begins on Thursday morning with doors opening each day at 8:30 am.  The auction begins at 12:00 pm (noon) on Thursday and 10:00 am Friday and Saturday.
